Kyle Seglin is a Long Island-born, LA-living sound engineer, editor, mixer, and designer. Operating out of his state-of-the-art home studio, Kyle Seglin has engineered and mixed for movies, TV, trailers, bands, and podcasts for over seven years.
After five years as a licensed psychotherapist, Kyle pursued a life long passion for audio. He studied at various New York City studios and immersed himself in the field before taking on clients of his own. While initially focused primarily on music, Kyle soon branched out from recording and mixing for local indie bands across NYC and worked as the sole freelance engineer for Empire Design. At Empire, Kyle was able to mix for The Walking Dead, Power, and various other TV and feature film productions.
In 2016, he moved to LA where he began working with a number of post production studios and agencies such as 72andSunny, Hecho Studios, and Barking Owl before becoming the sole audio engineer and mixer for ATTN:. At ATTN:, Kyle had the pleasure of working with talent like Zooey Deschanel, Jessica Alba, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Pres. Barack Obama, Patti Smith and Bono, as well as mixing for director Rob Reiner. During this time Kyle continued to mix passion projects including More Than A Feeling selected by the Austin Film Festival as well as the directorial debut of actor/director Amanda Crew.
In 2019, Kyle became the lead engineer and audio producer at Pod Save America powerhouse, Crooked Media. At Crooked, Kyle runs all audio operations, including engineering all in-house podcasts, managing out-of-house engineers, and overseeing all podcast production through to delivery. Kyle is also the sound designer and mixer for Hall of Shame and routinely subs in for his freelance mixers across all podcasts and advertisement spots. From his first day at Crooked, Kyle has managed the studio including overseeing a complete overhaul of equipment and developing recording standards and infrastructure. During COVID, Kyle spearheaded the record-from-home set up across all Crooked podcasts and manages equipment and zoom recordings daily. At Crooked, Kyle has been able to work with talent such as Mandy Moore, Ramy Yousef, Bernie Sanders, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Busy Phillips, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, John Legend, Allison Williams, Angela Basset, Adam Scott, Gloria Steinem, Lakeith Stanfield, Rep. Ayana Presley, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Billy Porter, Marcia Gay Harden, Jean Smart, Regina Hall, Eugene Levy, Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Robin Thede, Daveed Diggs, Tim Gunn, Tamron Hall, Sophia Bush, Ronan Farrow, Angelica Ross, Whitney Cummings, Kathy Griffin, Billy Eichner and Ed Helms. Kyle also had the pleasure of engineering on Ronan Farrow’s To Catch and Kill podcast.
All the while, Kyle continues to freelance on films, TV, and shorts as a post-mixer and sound designer.
